desertcart.com : Highwild AR500 Steel Target 8" x 3/8" Gong Shooting Metal Target - Neon Orange : Sports & Outdoors Review: Great target for the money - I've had this a while now so wanted to review. It's been great for us. I set up a small range at our home (we have several acres and a large berm) and tried this brand of target out. We mainly just use it for .22 lr which this is overkill for but it works perfectly with zero damage after thousands of rounds. My kids are in SASP and we all compete in Steel Action so these get a lot of use. Zero issues and I'd buy more if I wanted to expand the range. I did shoot some 9mm a few times and again, no damage using FMJ rounds. Review: They work great and are lots of fun - The orange looks good but after the gong is hit the powder coat just comes off. It did not cost extra so no loose right. Just FYI the powder coat does come right off. ALSO it is clear in the pic that the gong hole is square, of course this could be OK if you plan to bolt & chain them. I bought the hang n hook system, and they technically do fit in the hole but then they won't hang on the pole. I did drill them so it will work and my boy can hang them up and take them down. DRILLING that is another story, AR500 is some special stuff, none of my drill bits did doodley squat. I did use a 1/2 " carbide mason bit and managed to get 4 holes drilled but destroyed my bit. Anyway all is good now I'll probably buy a couple more but will look for a gong with the round hole NOT a Square hole, they are to tight. Thanks for the fun OH my boy was shooting 22LR at about 25 yards worked perfect. I couldn't resist so I hit them my self with my glock 23 .40 cal ding ding ding ding no dents :)

Takes abuse and stays strong.
Mine have over a few thousand rounds to it and is still going strong. Paint chips obviously, but your favorite spray paint will bring the visibility back.

Good product but doesn't work with hanging hooks.
This product is good quality. I just couldn't use it with the hanging hooks that are used with 1 inch EMT conduit setup. The square holes were different sizes and I could only hang the gongs on one hook. That made them swing too much. I will say, the steel is nice and sturdy. No pitting from 9mm and 45 and .223. These are only for lag bolt attached straps or chains.

Good product
Takes shots from .556 FMJ with just minor chips in the metal. 9mm barely chips the paint on this thing and it's fantastic! Makes target shooting so much more fun and being able to hear the *ding* when my shots land make shooting so much more satisfying. I've taken it to the range a couple times and it seems like it will last a long time! Nothing quite like hitting this thing a couple times in quick succession. So far it is a great product that I would recommend. Also as a tip: get steel wire to hold it up on a post/target, I've found that zip ties and rope snap right off when hitting the plate. Rope will hold but as soon as a bullet hits the knot in the hole then you gotta replace the rope. Wire is a little harder to hit and break so it's probably a better option.

Will buy again!
Well-made! Purchased two of these for the home range. Been using this for mainly 9mm and .22lr rounds. No pitting or damage to report. Used some bent rebar to make a stand and used some old chain and s-hooks to hang.

I love it, lets shoot it.
I like so much, I'm going to spend more money on it with my 9mm.
