This umbrella base worked perfectly for my 10by10 foot umbrella. I love that you can either fill it up with water or sand. I used water and it was super easy to fill up and put together no instructions needed.

TEXAS winds shredded my old sandbags, so I grabbed this Simple Deluxe base for my cantilever umbrella—best decision ever. The 4 square plates locked together in seconds with those U-pins, no wobbling around the crossbar. Filled 'em with hose water (44 lbs each, total beast-mode stability), and even during Hurricane remnants, my shade stayed put—no tipping or rattling. Handles make dragging to storage a breeze, and draining for winter? Effortless. Looks sleek in black too, way classier than ugly weights. If you're battling breezes, this is the fix—solid build, zero leaks after a summer of storms. 5 stars, hands down!

Definitely does a better job of holding the base of the umbrella down from wind than sand bags alone. Each of the 4 sections were easy to fill with water. One of the sections/squares has already gotten a small hole in it (not sure how) on the top, but it’s not damaging the integrity of the weight overall. So durability might be limited, but you get what you pay for haha. We added our 2 sand bags on top for added peace of mind. So far the umbrella hasn’t fallen over or moved one bit!

We bought this product at a discounted price because it was returned but supposed to be in new condition. The return date has gone by but our deck was under construction so today was the first day that we assembled the umbrella and filled the base plates with water. Two of the base plates were damaged and unable to be used as some of the holes on the under side were broken and leaked water. Our mistake for not checking the bases upon receipt. A cautionary tale.

Works exactly as it should. I filled it with water and I've had no problems. My only complaint is that it's like 4 ft by 4 ft base so if you're going to put it on your deck you lose a lot of room.
