It’s tea time
This cup goes almost everywhere with me, it holds temperature amazingly and the amount of liquid that can be held is incredible along with the quality of the lid seal

Good plastic-free travel mug
I really liked this mug, as it’s a completely plastic-free option, which is a rarity. Bought it to use at the office and on commutes. Well-insulated, so can comfortably hold the mug without burning your hands. It keeps the drink hot for a long time, which also means I was having to take the lid off to cool my drinks enough to drink them. I did accidentally drop the lid after about 2 weeks, and it sadly smashed instantly on the floor. I’m still using the cup without the lid as it’s fine for office only and still looks nice.

The *perfect* tea cup
I've only glowing remarks to share about my travel tea cup. If you're after quality (taste and cup) then you've found your perfect cup. - double glass wall keeps my tea hot & my hands cosy - glass cup is perfect if you like your tea free of residue & other flavours as it cleans easily, quickly, fully - silicon base & grip are perfectly designed (placement, size...) - silicon lid works excellently to keep my tea hot & prevent accidental spills (like when I carry it to my desk) - perfect for every day use (covid-times dont call for much travel...) Tips - the drink spout sealer is silcon; as it's not made of the hard plastic you'll need to take care when opening and closing it - your reward is a better seal to prevent accidental spills. I grip the circular part in the middle of the lid to turn it and it works brilliantly! Troubleshooting - if your silicon lid acquires smells/flavours you need only soak it in boiling water overnight and it's perfect again (mine was left in tepid dishwater by a family member) - when washing, leave to air-dry upside-down & ideally on a drying rack. If it's knocked a) the risk of toppling over is reduced (the base is smaller than the rim) and b) the silicon base absorbs some of the shock (a family member did neither of these things and my first one smashed; despite this, I'd still buy 10 of these over any alternative such is my conviction in this product's worth). I've been enjoying tea in mine for 3 months and look forward to many more!

Not Fit For Purpose
Bought as a travel mug for my car, can't use it for such as the lid is poorly designed as all I can do is take one tiny little awkward sip at a time. And my tea tastes like silicon, because the liquid comes in contact with the lid seal. And the tiny little square hole to drink out of, have fun finding where that is. I've also removed the silicone grip as I don't like the smell on my fingers. I won't use this mug at home either as I already have double walled glass mugs, which have handles and no holes in the lids, so my tea will stay hotter than using this ecoBrew mug. I had to use the mug to find out I can't drink out of it, as it is out of the box, otherwise I would have returned it: it's not fit for the purpose I bought it for.

Rubbery stink. Needs attention, but can be got rid of if you persevere.
Nice cup, great concept. EcoBrew: Please cure that silicone better! This review gets three stars. The reasons below: The Pro? Theoretically not drinking out of plastic. The Con? That doesn’t work at all because the silicone seal is clearly a type which retains a stinky unpleasant rubbery-silicone toxicity. I am familiar with these style cups, have owned three (by Others) over the years. I value them because they are glass and don’t (generally..) taint a drink or poison me. (I accept they are fragile, and that has no bearing on this review). I took my new EcoBrew, washed it in very thoroughly hot soapy water as per instructions. I made my favourite green tea. – It was totally undrinkable. A foul sort of deliberately perfumed/air freshener style/perfumed/silicon pong. It cut right through the tea which tasted and smelt frankly very toxic. So I removed all three silicone pieces, first washed them in VERY hot water and soap and scrubbing brush.. This did very little. I then soaked them all in a strong bicarbonate of soda and of water for a few hours, washed off.. This did very little. I then soaked them in 10% spirit vinegar.. This did very little. I scrubbed them again.. This did very little. So the seals and other silicone parts STILL VERY STINKY Definitely RETURN THE PRODUCT sort of foulness. Or a last resort..? So knowing that these plastics are partly thermally set, I decided to cook the rubber parts. I removed all three, then I “baked” them in a fan oven for an hour and a half at 100 Centigrade. Certainly something volatile was coming off now because of the characteristic nasty smell on opening the oven door. I scrubbed them again in hot soapy water. Has is fixed it? I’m sampling a cup of tea now, and I THINK YES. So I won't be returning this cup after all. It's a shame that the manufacturer is clearly shooting themselves in the foot (several other reviewers have commented), but this also they also get only three stars from me. Other comments? The lid seals fine, a slight twist helps the seals bed in. The drinking hole could have been a little smaller, but it’s OK. Insulation? These are twin-wall, not vacuum flask style. About right honestly.- In my experience, most of the vacuum-wall stainless cups (which have fully sealing but always plasticcy lids which contaminate and taint a drink), are too well insulated. I want to leave the house and begin my tea soon without scalding myself for the next hour, but knowing it won’t be cold in five minutes. So in that respect, perfect.

I LOVE this cup!
I’ve just taken delivery of my second cup. I broke the last one a few days ago by accidentally catching the rim with a small pan I was moving from the sink to the stove. I’d just made a cup of coffee which was sitting in front of me and then I caught it at the wrong angle and it shattered, quite spectacularly I might add. Very fine, thin and sharp glass went everywhere. This is to be expected though because the glass is thin and without getting sciencey, the double-walled insulation wouldn’t work. A small price to pay though for how effective it is - just don’t break it! When I received the original, I kept meaning to write a review but I have a bit of history with reusable cups in that they never end up being as good or as practical or as reusable as sellers claim they are. I’m primarily a tea drinker, one of those annoying purist (temperature, colour, flavour etc.) ones and I got hacked off tasting plastic, bamboo and other recycled materials in my drinks and then soap, after I’d given them a wash to try and get rid of the stains. Perhaps with coffee, the flavour is not that obvious, but still, not great. Even stainless steel is awful for travel cups and glass is really the only option so when I saw this glass option I decided to give it a go. I liked it immediately and planned to leave a review at the time but decided to wait a while and see how I got on. That was in September 2019. Since then, I’ve used it non-stop, including bringing it to Italy where it really stepped up to the plate. Try making a hot cup of anything in the middle of winter at 3000m and you’ll know that you will only ever achieve have a tepid, flavourless, pretty disgusting, mug of liquid. I have used this mug all day, every day. I especially love being able to see all the tea behind glass. Not sure what that says about me but I also like tropical aquariums, glass-bottomed boats and lava lamps. Back in the U.K. I didn’t use it so much in the office or at home, but I did tend to leave it in the car and use it when I went to McDonald’s or anywhere else for a takeaway hot drink. Did you know that Starbucks reusable cups don’t fit into standard cup holders in cars? Too tall so they hit the windscreen. That’s where the obsession with supersizing everything gets you... design over function. On the drive from the U.K. over to mainland Europe it was invaluable. With my stainless steel flask, they were a winning combo but it made me realise how much I miss the old-style thermos flasks made of glass. So, some practical feedback: It’s insulation is perfect for keeping drinks hot for ages. The lid isn’t that great, it gets a bit gunky up if you have milk in your drinks and then when you turn it inside out to clean it, it stretches and gets too big for the cup. I ended up discarding it after a few weeks. The grippy bit at the bottom fell off and was lost in the first week or so. It’s a good idea for protection but not practical. The sleeve is good though. It comes off easily for cleaning and grips the glass well. The glass does discolour if you take your drinks without milk but the glass is easy to clean. you could argue that I’d be better off with a double-walled glass traditional mug with a handle but these are not practical. Anything that is made of fine glass and that has sticky-out bits like handles, has a limited lifespan! Also, they don’t hold as much and are more expensive. This EcoBrew version is practical and no-fuss. Unfortunately they aren’t available in Europe which was a shame but I ordered on Amazon (within 5 minutes of breaking mine) on Thursday or Friday last week and the delivery arrived today (Tuesday). For four days, I’ve had tepid tea and coffee. By the time I’ve made the drink and carried it outside, it’s lukewarm so I really did miss having this cup. It’s a lot more robust than I thought it was going to be, given that it’s glass, but if it wasn’t for my clumsiness, I wouldn’t have had to buy a replacement. When I placed my order, I ordered two so I have a backup. I’m not planning to break another one but I’m not getting caught out again! Recommended!!!

Lovely product, excellent customer service
This is a great reusable cup - looks exactly as it is in the picture, the glass design means it looks very nice and sleek, and it's simple to put together and easy to clean. It also keeps drinks warm for a good amount of time. I was also SO impressed by the customer service provided by Ecoliving! 7 months after purchasing, I contacted them to ask if it's possible to get replacements for the silicone base and holding sleeve (I'd lost them at work after washing them up). They responded so quickly and arranged to send me replacements free of charge, which arrived in that same week. Very pleased! (The only thing I would warn about with this product is that the lid is pushed on. It's a snug fit so doesn't easily fall off or anything and would stop it from spilling if you knocked it over, but it isn't the same as metal flasks with screw on lids. This means it's unsuitable for putting in your bag if it has a drink in it as it could come off if it was knocked around. This has been fine for me as I haven't needed to do that, but something to be aware of.)
