Small Vortex

Great item!

I love this for making wings

After watching video's by some big time BBQ "experts" who all gave it positive reviews., I decided to get one coming. I'm using it on a 22" Weber with their their "Gourmet Grill grate system. I place the Vortex under the cast iron sear plate and boy does this thing sear the steak. I have not tried it on chicken wings yet, that seems to be the main thing that everyone raves about. I will say that it really does channel the heat up in a much more concentrated fashion then say a regular charcoal basket. They come in 3 sizes, I would say that the small one is perfectly sized for a 22" grill, any larger would be overkill. The steel seems to be thick enough to last a good while and time will tell if the spot welds hold up to that intense heat.

Worked better that I anticipated. Focused heat and reached higher than 550F

This vortex is a game changer, along with the grate it makes the best chicken wings. Just as it says.

Highly recommend this gadget for my Weber kettle grill(s) Wings, drumsticks and thighs come out so crispy, seems like you deep fried them. But you get that smoked taste from the charcoal too. Awesome addition to your grilling arsenal. I bought this “small” Vortex for the 18 inch Weber kettle. And the “medium” Vortex for the 22 inch. Absolutely love this product.

This thing is my new favorite way to cook chicken wings. And I get tons of compliments on them. I like my wings as crispy as possible and this can be tough with grilled wings. I think this is a great way to get the crispiest wing you can. I used to use a basket and rotisserie which I also attached a photo of. It made great wings, but was an absolute pain to cook with/clean and just manage overall. I was much more limited on how many wings I could cook at a time as well. The vortex is amazing for wings on the kamado and has basically no clean up. Its also super easy to use and set up. Just dump in charcoal and a chunk of wood, light and its ready in about 10 minutes

too sharp. cut my thumb while washing. need to dull the edges somehow or roll them. also shouldn’t put paper stickers on, but easily removed stickers. better yet, how about laser engraving your logo. will update when i use to sear steaks… wish me luck Update: Works very well. Made awesome chicken wings and seared some steaks afterwards. Great product.
