Top quality. Very durable. Excellent wear durability. It doesn't tarnish.
This gold-filled wire is very high quality. I used a torch at 1,300 degrees and protected it from getting fire-scale by using a generous amount of liquid soldering flux. I won't go into the knowledge-skill needed to know how to protect this (or any) gold-filled wire from fire-scale using liquid soldering flux. If you run into any problems using this wire it is not because of the wire. I also used 24k soft-solder chips. The soldered joints are very strong. Keep in mind that solder is not designed to fill in gaps, it is designed to solder joints together. You have to be highly skilled at soldering by making sure your pieces are precisely touching each other for solder to flow. If you are using 24k gold soft-gold soldering chips, soft-gold soldering chips provides a very tough joint bond with this wire. My handmade reading glasses hold up to daily use with no problems at all. I tested this wire ahead of time and it took a lot of strength to break the soldering bond on this wire using two pair of pliers. The bond to this wire is well beyond any type of force someone would need for a practical project like reading glasses. My reading glasses are very, very strongly bonded. You will need a torch and 1,300 degree heat to work with 24k soft gold soldering chips with this gold-filled wire because a soldering iron isn't going to reach that temperature and you won't get the flow you need. Again, I am saying it won't be because of this gold-filled wire where you run into problems. There is nothing wrong with this high-quality gold-filled wire. I included photos with this review so you can see for yourself what this gold-filled wire can do. Lastly, the durability of this gold-filled wire is superb. After 8 months my handmade reading glasses are as good as they were the day I made them. This gold-filled wire doesn't tarnish at all. In case you're not familiar with the properties of heating the gold-filled wire, it will become weakly pliable because that is what heat does. It's unavoidable. If you're not familiar with the physics of wire, soldering, and heat, this wire can be tempered back to its original hardness just by gently, barely bending it a few times, or through normal flexing use. I don't want to go into detail about all of that as a teaching lesson. I'm just saying, heat naturally weakens wire. Gently barely flexing it a few times strengthens it back to normal hardness. To wrap this up... This wire is 100% worth your money spent. This seller/supplier is the only one I purchased multiple sizes of gold-filled wire from. I have no reason to go anywhere else to purchase gold-filled wire. It's top-quality gold-filled wire.

Works well and allergy friendly
I'm not an expert jewelry maker, but I make most of my own earring because I have some severe metal allergies and gold earring are pretty spendy. This has worked and held up well for over a year with regular wear. Seems like a solid product.

Quality
This wire has a genuine 14k beautiful finish look to it, not yellow-orange like some GF. I am using it to make wire wrapped jewelry. It is durable and the finish does not mar with my jewelry pliers. Great price and quality. I will definitely be buying more.

We recently started using the 20 Gauge, 14/20 Yellow Gold Filled Wire from Craft Wire in our workshop, and it has been fantastic. This 5FT round, half-hard wire is perfect for crafting beautiful, high-quality jewelry. The 14/20 gold filled material gives our pieces a luxurious finish while being durable and easy to work with. We've used it for making rings, bracelets, and intricate wire wraps, and it consistently delivers great results. I've made a nose stud, nose ring and a couple of earrings with this role so far and I still have a bunch left. Really nice shade of gold. I've had the nose stud in for about a week now through showers and makeup appliations, and it hasn't caused any green or discolouration.

I question whether the item I received was really gold filled as advertised. After balling up the end of a small piece of "14k gold filled" wire with the torch, I placed it in the pickle to clean. Upon removing it a few minutes later, the wire was no long gold but silver. I would love to know how that happened...I've done similar with gold filled in the past and never ended up with a different kind of metal before.
